INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY- Tuesday 8th March 202207 March 2022International Women's Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8th to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women. It is also a focal point in the women's rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women. Women earn 23% less than men globally. Women occupy only 24% of parliamentary seats worldwide. 1 in 3 have experienced physical/sexual violence. Today not one country can claim to have achieved gender equality. Multiple obstacles remain unchanged in law and in culture. The theme for 2022 is #BreaktheBias. The campaign asks you to cross your arms in solidarity to call out gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping.
